Recording
Full-band tracking, overdubs and vocals in real rooms with real consoles. This is the core of what happens here, and it is what the room was built to do.
The take, captured in the room.
Recording is the part where the performance becomes sound on a track. A full band plays together on the tracking floor, or a singer steps up to the mic for vocals, or a player comes back to lay an overdub on top of what is already down. The engineer sets the mics, sets the levels, and captures it clean so there is something real to build on later.
At SugarHill that happens in the rooms themselves. The Sugar Hill Room is the big tracking floor, built around a NEOTEK console. It is not a recreation of an old room. It is the same brick that pulled eighty years of records out of Houston, from Lightnin' Hopkins to Beyonce.
Which means the signal path is part of the take. A real console, real rooms with their own sound, and an engineer at the board who knows how to use them. You play, and the room does the rest.
If you are looking for a recording studio in Houston, this is the room where the city has made its records since 1941.
Tracked and delivered.
A recording session is the floor, the gear and the person running it. Here is what comes with the room.
- Live-room tracking for a full band playing together on the floor.
- Isolation for overdubs and vocals so each part stays clean.
- A vintage signal path through a real console, not a plugin of one.
- An engineer at the board for the whole session.
- Your files delivered the way you need them for mixing or release.
